Discussion Questions for Live Sessions, Module 8:
Submit your answers (total: SWOT and 200-300 words ) to the discussion questions at the link above, and be prepared to discuss during our class sessions.
When submitting your discussion questions: (a) Write your discussion questions in a Word doc or PDF format (not .PAGES) and then attach to submit, rather than writing your answers directly in Blackboard, (b) use the word count function in your software (in MS Word, it is: Menu/Review/Word Count) and write the number of words at the top of your submission, and (c) number your responses (using #1 or 1.) before your answer. Do not include the questions in your submitted document (as they are not part of the word count).
1. Review the Tourism Essentials: Sport Tourism Guide (Chapter 1). Then, review the SWOT for Sport Tourism in BC (page 13 and page 39). Develop a summary SWOT regarding sports tourism for your hometown (or major city close to your hometown). Share at least three bullet points for each SWOT component (12 in total).
2. Choose 1 of the 10 sports predictions in the 2022 PwC Sports Outlook, and discuss how the topic/issue you chose impacts tourism and hospitality from your perspective. Why is the topic/issue important to hospitality and tourism? What are your own experiences/insights related to the future of this topic/issues as related to tourism and hospitality?
