Select a media profession example or case to critically analyse good and/or bad industry practices. The selection of the case will depend on your choice of profession. For example, it can be an ad campaign, a magazine, a series of journalistic outputs, games, professionally curated social media content, brand marketing efforts, etc.

Be creative in how you present information.Use tables – they are a great way to organise content logically and, best of all, they are not included in the word count!Other than tables, the title page, table of contents, and list of references are also NOT included in the word count.

Task Checklist & Tips

Avoid contractions such as: can’t, won’t, don’t, it’s, etc.

Use the third person only

If using acronyms, remember to spell out the words first followed by the acronym in parentheses, and then use the acronym for later references in the text. For example, In Media Professions and Identities (MPI) students learn about professionalism.

Avoid starting sentences with a number, abbreviation, or conjunctions.

You must provide evidence for your arguments as well as examples in the form of credible references – both academic and non-academic.

Include 6-8 academic and non-academic sources; at least 3 must be academic.
