Written Assignments

Throughout the course, there are a variety of written assignments that are assigned, including case activities, Prepare & Share assignments (where you create your document and then share with classmates), and other written assignments. Each is designed to engage you with the course material and assess your learning. All assignments should be written in APA style with evidence of research via citations and references.

Final Project

As a culminating project in this course, you will select a topic on a component of healthcare quality (i.e. access, patient safety, outcomes, etc.) and will prepare a written paper, as well as a narrated PowerPoint presentation.

Submit Your Topic (Module 3)

To encourage you to start this project during the session, you will submit your topic to the instructor during Module 3. Final project deliverables will include a PowerPoint presentation and a research paper. Due to the size of this project, it is in your best interest not to wait until the last week of class to work on this.

PowerPoint Presentation (Module 6)

Prepare a narrated PowerPoint presentation that includes 10-15 slides and share it on the “Submit Final Presentation” link in the Module 6 Activities and Assessments folder by 11:59p EST on Wednesday of Week 6. Presentations must be no longer than 12 minutes long. (See PowerPoint Evaluation Form)

Research Paper

The research paper is to be submitted using the “Submit Final Project Paper” in Module 6 Activities and Assessments folder by 11:59 EST on Saturday. of Week 6 (the final day of class).

Expectations for the research paper: (See Research Paper Evaluation Form)

  • 10-15 pages in length; not including Title page, references, appendices
  • Use at least 5 reliable published sources
  • APA style
  • Title Page
  • 12 inch standard font such as Arial, Times New Roman or Calibri
  • 1 inch margins
  • Double-spaced
  • Submitted on time by 11:59 EST on Sunday of Week 6 (the last day of class)
  • Reveals clear organization, development of thought, grasp of the subject
  • Demonstrates good writing skills (grammar, punctuation, verb-tense, etc.)
  • Evidence of research via citations and references
  • Represents the student’s best work
  • Both the PowerPoint presentation and the research paper must include the following:

  • Introduction (1-2 paragraphs)
  • Body
