1. figuring how many square feet your kitchen contains by multiplying the width and the length of the space.

2. Look at* the required storage requirements in the guidelines and figure out if your kitchen is a medium or large kitchen.

3. Using the math process described in the guidelines, determine if the storage requirements for your sized kitchen have been met. list the wall, base, tall cabinets separately, and drawers. add the total for each category together to get the total storage amount. Do not forget that rollout trays count as drawers. It is ok to be short in one or more categories of storage as long as your total needs are met.

4. check you have met the required 158″ of countertop frontage (measured along the front edge of your counter)
